Estensis' Castle in Ferrara

One of the first complex 3D modeling work done in Italy. A Cd-Rom which gathers many historical documents and presents the virtual reconstruction hypothesis of the 4 evolution stages of this magnificent castle: from simple tower to fortified entrance and then from defensive castle to urban palace.

Developed in 1997, when Pentium II at 500 MHz was the maximum power available on desktop PC's, this model, isomorph to surveyed data, just by itself represented a masterpiece in complex modeling process management, being organized in hierarchical sub systems worked out singularly and then composed into one big reference system.

Rendered images and videos produced were presented in different national conferences and still today represent a valid example of a correct use of environment lighting conditions and of textures.
